Over at Techcrunch I see that SwiftKey has been purchased by Microsoft. I tried SwiftKey when it switched to the Freenium model but alas I went back to the old-fashion pecking method.
I agree with the article that SwiftKey ran into issues with it's new business model of themes. You just aren't going to get recurring revenue that way.
